Can someone please tell me how to merge two families. I've put my grandfathers and grandmothers family...now I need to link them two as a couple.  I read that I needed to put them as a new alias but then how do I connect them to form a marriage?  This is so complicated.  Please someone help me.

Have you tried the basic documentation how to link individuals together?

This documentation applies to GenoPro version 1.99 and the beta.

I tried this, but I got only a steadily growing link line, and when I doubleclicked, the whole thing disappeared.

But here my "variant" of this problem type:

I have painted mother(1) and father(1) and son(1). Father(1) died, and mother(1) married another man, who was also father already, so I call him father(2). His wife (lets say mother(2)) had died before, so there was no divorce at all. mother(2) and father(2) had together son(2). Now mother(1) with her son(1) started to live together with father(2) and his son(2), they married (as I said above), and after a while they decided to "cross-adopt" their respective sons to become a "real" family.

What I have now is the state before the "cross adoption", and I want to link son(1) as an adopted child to father(2) and son(2) as an adopted child to mother(1). I cannot achieve this, even after reading the section about creating links: The links simply do not connect to the clicked "other" person and stop then, but continue to grow on every click wherever made. Double-clicking stops them, but then they disappear completely.

What do I do wrong?

Thanks for any help,

cg

You need GenoPro Beta for this.  Which version of GenoPro are you using?

You might try to "resnap to grid" (look at the tools buttoms) before you try to link to the pedigree lines. When the cross(square) turns red over the line it will link.
