I think what Ron proposed makes sense with regard to godparents and marriage witnesses.(social relationship!)
Same goes for funeral and cremation, the latter one which is not always the last stage. Ashes scattered is i.e. one idea.
Pictures on the death tab i.e. could be used for tomb stones or graveyard or certificates. I think this is always up to the user.

| I agree, I have a quite a bit of cremation and then burial at some later point, and I am already using pictures of graves in my phtos. This would be a very useful feature

I just released Beta 18d. The goal of Beta 18d was to introduce the new XML parser to leverage the XML technology. By the same token, the Gedcom import was greatly improved. I will take a look at those dialogs for Beta 18e.

| I was thinking of having legitimate and illegitimate added to the pedigree link section, I made a pic, but, with me usng dial-up (slower than usual), I couldn't download it quick enough, and kept on getting errors.

When might we expect this to be included?Perhaps you missed the post about the emergency fix of Beta 18e regarding the Table layout for twins almost empty. Before posting, take a look at the other posts. The version numbers I quote are guesses, and sometimes I have to adjust to events (bugs) that are happening.

Thing is... legitimate and illegitimate children are subsets of Biological child, not options in addition to Biological child... Isn't child "legitimacy" implied by the marriage object of the parents? Like... if the parents aren't married, or were married after the child was born, the child is illegitimate.

| I have quite a few illigitimate children on my tree and they are all identified as such by adding another "mate" and adding the child to this union leaving the marriage link blank or putting "temporary relationship".The mate is named "unknown or "no name" if unknown. I know of another illigitimate child but she was accepted by her mother's husband as his own, even though they were separated but not divorced, and is shown as his child. They never did divorce! This knowledge might one day be added as a footnote after her death, but sometimes these things are better forgotten. ;) Her father was a really great guy! I knew him well. :P

I have a few such situatuations and don't know how to treat them. In fact I usually have to create a new tree for every audience that want to see it...:D I c/p , make fine tuning... and everybody's happy...:P

| The person in the case I mentioned above is in a private tree on my web site and only accessible with passwords, but her natural father is not mentioned and the family appears normal in the tree even though her cousins say she knows about her origins. I prefer to be discrete about these situations as they are delicate and, I feel, only to be revealed after the death of the person.

| I would like to add my 2 cents worth, before final dialogs are set: 1. I would like to see the religion of the person (not just religious events). Perhaps this can be a custom tag, but I think it is reasonably interesting to many people, and would merit a place in one of the standard tabs. 2. The occupation should describe occupations of the person. The Residency tab should describe Where the person lived and the Contact tab should describe the many methods of contacting the person now (only reasonable if alive) or else, a contact person who may know about this person. A more long-term concept (at this late date) is to enable a user to "Paint" via drag and drop, the various tabs with the columns, such that we can mix and match any columns we would like to see on any tab. Thus, I can have some of my custom tags located in the General tab, etc.

| I like most of Jean-Claude's proposed screens. However, I would suggest a bit of a change to the General tab. I would remove the Preview Box and Display Lines Selector from this tab. This would make room for Birth Location and Death Location (as well as Burial Date and Location). My reasoning for this is that most casual viewers would be more interested in these items being on the first tab that pops up, rather than hunting for this info. I, probably like most genomap makers, am creating my chart for others to see. Most of these others won't be interested in changing or editing anything, they just want to know a bit about their relatives. Therefore, it would be most user-friendly to have common interest items on the first tab. Just my two lincolns worth. -Steve

Beta 19b has improvements to the education, occupation, sources and contacts. GenoPro is still missing a field Source for the contact. I am waiting to trigger a new file format to change this and some other enumerations.
