Help! If anyone knows how to get them back, would appreciate it. Lots of work went into them.

If you entered data into GenoPro you are prompted to save your work when you exit. Normally the files can then be found from the file menu.
If that does not work, use the Windows Search to look in My Computer for files *.gno.
Hope that sorts it.

| Thanks for the answer. I did save the files and worked on them periodically. I reopened this AM for the first time in about a yr and 1/2. File disappeared when I clicked on it to open. I thought it was a fluke and stupidly did another file. I still have one file on the other side of the family. That shows up under files in the new GenoPro 7. Any ideas how to find those files?

At a guess the reason that the file disappeared from the GenoPro file list is that it was not in the directory specified ie the file structure has been changed in the last year.
If the File Search on *.gno did not find anything else, it does not look good. You could try searching using part of the filename although you are unlikely to find any useful alternatives to the .gno files.
For future use, do not forget that GenoPro has an online Backup which means that you can save your data on the GenoPro server. (Access from the file menu) So when, not if, your hard disc crashes, you do not have to start all over again
