I can type in Chinese but once I press {enter}, they are displayed as "?" marks. I am using Windows 2000.

Are you using a Unicode font which will display Chinese characters (eg Arial Unicode MS)? - see File-->Properties-->Font

I did not see a Property option under File menu. I saw a Preference option under the Edit menu and made sure I had selected Arial Unicode MS as the Font Name and CHINESE_BIG5 as the Script. I am running the evaluation version 1.99c of the software. Thanks.

The version 2.0 beta fully supports Unicode fonts. I recommend you download the beta from here. It is very stable and has lots more features than v1.99c - both versions can co-exist on your machine. You can have free registration for 30 days, which can be renewed for each new beta that is released. If I understand correctly, you can use an earlier version of the beta - 13h - for free.

Had a look at the webpage and suggest to have a look into the way you display the names. You can set each person or you take a global approach by selecting a different style of the display name (with no space between the characters). This will make your display more compact and not so stretched.

The english text can be changed to chinese in the dictionary.xml file. Have done some tests on this, but I am waiting now for the new beta with improved date display.

Hello experienced Chinese users,

I would really appreciate advice on how well GenoPro works in terms of entering English, Cantonese, and Mandarin on the fly.  For example, can I show an English name with the Cantonese and Mandarin names in brackets, directly in the family tree or report?  I am considering getting GenoPro but have not decided yet, as there seems to be only a few packages that can support multiple languages well.

Thanks.
