hi all

I am evaluating this product and I have just downloaded the trial beta version and have imported my gedcom file.

After having a play around some of my entries are incorrect or need alterations.

I have over 1200 individuals and can see the data etc in the view individuals screen

What I can't seem to get my head around is how do i edit an entry???

eg - I need to now add adoptive information

Do I have to have a tree drawing - zoom in and try and find the person??

or is there a much simpler way - if I do a find it puts me back into the table view screen - please put me on the correct track??

Use the Table Layout (Ctrl+T).  Click on the column First Name and then Last Name.  This action will sort by last names, followed by first names.  Then, locate the individual you want to edit and press Enter to edit its properties.

hi thanks for your answer but that didn't answer my question.

That only gives the properties as below

General //BirthandDeath//Pictures//View//Reports

not the family information that I need to edit???

thanks

While in the Table Layout, click on the spouse hyperlink.  GenoPro will move you to the family of both parents.  You can then edit the properties of that family (marriage).

hi thanks for your answer

I think I may still be doing something wrong as it seems very difficult to bring that properties window up - eg sometimes you press enter and the first properties one comes up - sometimes the other one

Is there any clear instructions how to do this??

2nd Question - how do I delete a full entry - line?

thanks

Dianne

I don't know to which properties window first and other means. In GenoPro each object has his own properties window. When and Individual in your tree is selected (has a blue squares on his name) then the "Individual Properties" window opens.
When you select the line connecting two individuals, then the "Family properties" window is opened.
If several Individuals are selected, then the "Selection properties" window is opened.

You need to select the object that you want to modify. It is very easy after you get to know it.

2nd Question - how do I delete a full entry - line?

Whatever you want to delete - select that object and press the "Del" on your keyboard or select the object, right click it with your mouse and select Delete at the bottom of the menu.
